OK, I got this far. I am behind, I hope to automatically receive your posts. About the dry spells that follow a major resolution (John Gray’s party.) Yes, that has happened to me also, in fact recently and very nearby. Glen Ivy. It did not impact my painting so much ( I don’t think so anyway) but my dream life and my internal world. I will try to tell you about it sometime – majorly complex. Anyway, you probably have plenty of substance to draw on but clearly you are rebooting. Physically and spiritually. Nothing wrong with doing art, one informs the other in ways that continue to amaze me. I am also surprised that you have come to such a conclusion regarding poetry. I think you will have to gauge by your desire to write poetry more than by the response. Too many great artists only emerge a generation or more later. In my view, people are so preoccupied with the quality and vibrational level of thier every day TV lives. If your poetry does not reflect or even resonate with their experience, they cannot connect. How large can your readership be? How many of “us” are there? I don’t think you can know if you are “good enough” or not. You cannot start writing for people at their level because you probably can’t comprehend that level (sort of like your experience of trying to teach ESL.) So, once again, we write and paint for love. I have never won anything like a major award at a juried show. I sure would like that recognition but you know, in the end it is all about what flows through me and I get that fine energy first. OK nuff said. I sure hope you keep writing poetry, for Gods sake!
Sandy, listen to your sister!!! She IS a wise one.
Very good advice Cheryl – publish in your notes so everyone can read!!
Read my response to what you wrote Sandy..Plutach has it right!
You can do both, females are multitasking individuals!
There is space if we allow for the quiet infilling.
Gloria,
Ahhh, lovely. You are spacious.
See above.
